The Soviet Union responds with nuclear strikes on your missile sites in Italy and Turkey, and moves nuclear-armed submarines into easy striking distance of the United States. For the first time ever, two states have used nuclear weapons against each other in a conflict. The Cold War has moved from a nuclear standoff past the brink to nuclear war.

What do you do now?

Mobilize your nuclear forces in turnEnsure that you have the capacity to quickly strike every major Soviet target. Prepare your military for war.
Protect your populaceDistribute protective suits and set about building protective shelters as quickly as possible. In case of a nuclear war, protecting your populace is the most important step.
Launch nuclear strikes against the Soviet UnionAim primarily at key military and government installations. Like it or not, war has begun, and it is essential that the United States gain the upper hand before the Soviet Union wipes out major American targets.
Request an emergency meetingApologize to the Soviet Union for using nuclear weapons first. Declare that it is absolutely essential for both countries to stop this conflict before it spirals any further out of control.
